Intake manifold mods?
I was running a stock cast iron intake on my hemi with a 750 Vac. Sec. Holley that someone had cut the plenum divider out of. I finally got the bucks to buy the Hot Heads dual plane aluminum highrise for the 392 and put it on. The manifold is pretty much the same type of setup as an Edelbrock Performer RPM Airgap in that it is separated from the lifter valley, and does not have an exhaust crossover passage. My top end MPH seems to have fallen off at the end of the Quarter to the tune of about 5-6 MPH. I'm considering cutting the plenum divider down about 1/2" or so on the intake. Has anyone here tried this modification before and if so, what kind of results did you get? I would just try an open spacer to see what results I get, but this intake is taller than the stocker, and my throttle cable is already almost to short, not to mention I would have to modify the cable bracket if I go any higher with the carb. Has anyone out there tried this mod?
