B body Disc Brake conversion
I am trying to finish a brake conversion I started over a year ago. Problem is I cant remember what I took the knuckles off. I know it was a early 70's A body, I believe a Dart. I dont think it was older than 76. Now I dont know what parts to get, calipers, rotors, and bearings etc. The casting number on the caliper mount is 776 95020a it is a slide type caliper. I would hate to start off from scratch. If someone could help me id these, i would appreciate it.

Sounds like '73 to '76 A body knuckles with 11 inch rotors. Go to www.arengineering.com and look at the pictures in the gallery section. There is an A body knuckle there.
Starting in '73 the inner wheel bearing was larger so that is the way to tell them apart from early stuff. |

I checked the website pictures and that is definitely the right style. I also found a .250 increase in size on the "new" junkyard spindles I pulled last year. So I am assuming they must have come from a 74 or newer a-body. Do you know if they will still work?
BTW your help has seemed right on the mark with the pictures and all. Some joker on another newsgroup had posted some flub about A-bodies not having sliders. Know full well I pulled them from a Dart, Scamp etc.. Thanks for the help Nexis |
