Thumbs up 4.10 Gears out of 2001 3/4 Ton 4x4

I just had 4.88's installed and have the stock 4.10's available for Dana 60's Front and Rear. Also, have the front carrier, as well, since the swap required a carrier change. They just turned 3000 miles. Shoot me an offer if interested.

Question

To be honest, I'm not really sure. I would think that it'd work as long as you have Dana 60's, as well, but I'm not the technically inclined one on this forum. Still in the learning stage. You may want to post a question to some of the more knowledgable one's out there. I'll see if I can find anything out in the meantime.

Default Still have em'

Just wanted to bring the post to the front. I've still got em' if interested. I know someone out there's thinking of a gear swap to 4.10's and wants to save some cash over buying new...

Question jordan12

Forgive me for the ignorance, but I remember discussing the gears with you and have lost your message. Refresh my memory... what setup do you have?

won't work if it's a 1500, you have a dana 44 front and chrysler corporate 9 and 1/4 rear.

Thumbs up Thanks Rufus...

That was my gut feeling as well. I don't think that the gears will works on anything but a Dana 60, front or rear, which only comes on the 2500 or 3500 models.

Again, I don't know for sure, but I will try to find out. What about a set for the front? Isn't that a Dana 60? I'm willing to sell a single set (1 ring and pinion) of gears if that's the case.

Question 4 THE REAR

What did you do with the Trak-Lok, did you use it with the new gears or does it go with the 4:10s?Also what about the bearings and shims? THANKS FULLPULL440

Default fullpull440

I left the limited slip in the rear when I installed the new gears. I am selling the ring and pinion's and I also have the front carrier to sell since my gear swap required a carrier change. The bearings and shims would need to be purchased separately. I believe that when you buy the Master Installation Kits that they sell for gear sets, that includes everything you need. I did not buy these kits when I did my swap, as my truck was new enough (2001 w/ 3000 miles) that they could reuse most of my parts. Normally, an installation kit is needed for each set of gears being swapped. One kit for the front and one for the rear.

Let me see what kind of money I have this week and I will get back to you. Do you by chance have a bottom price you will go, because I really only need the rear. I have 4:10s already and need to replace the rear 120k miles on them and they are starting to grunt pretty bad. THANKS FULLPULL440

I'm interested inthem if you still have them. I'm not sure if they will fit a 2000 Dakota R/T. So i'm gonna check a couple of sites to find out but, If you know they will fit I'll get them.
