Default Help!

I was hopin someone could help me out on this. We just bought a 1976 Plymouth Fury Suburban with a 360 ci v8 4 bbl and we want to put it into my dads 67 Belvedere II convertible (318 car) to give it a 'lil more ''oomph''.
Does anyone know of what the horsepower rating on the 360 is, and the rating of the 318 hp as well? or do you know a site I could find the ratings for it instead?

Thanks for the Help.

I'm assuming the 360 is original for that year? What year is your 318?

the 318 is a 67, it is the original engine for the Belvedere (2 bbl).

My Duster runs a '67 318 and does pretty well. The 360 is definitely going to be a better build for you though. Using the 360 crank and going to a 4.1 bore, you can go to 378. 3 angle grind on the valves and opening the bowls will help there. Intake ports to .020 under gasket size w/ exhaust right at gasket size. Double roller chain and reamed oil passages w/ Miloden high volume pump. TorkerII intake w/ 750 single feed carb. It all makes a nice setup that supposed to run on pump gas since it stays around 9.5:1. The whole thing is laid out with details in Mopar Muscle magazine from a couple of months ago. Be a better build than the 318. My freind has a '65 BelvedereII that went from 318 to 360 and a huge difference. Sorry I don't have exacts on H.P. ratings.

do u know what magazine the build up for the 360 is in? I have back to the December 2000 issue, which has a 426 cube 360 build up, is that the one?

What do you turn with your 318 Duster?

I think the only big modification we will do to the 360 is a better cam and new heads possibly.

Thanks!

Let me look through my old magazines. It's either Mopar Muscle or Mopar Action. I'll be back in a day or two with month and year for the article. My Duster has never got to see the track, although on the street I've got over on 4 '96 & up RS camaros, 2 5.0's, and 1 zipperhead w/ a lowered Acura. My car is too slow for me. You should be able to play with those heads and have a lot of fun and spend less money.
