Unhappy

I have a 318 with 360 heads that leaks coolant through the left rear exhaust bolt. No matter what I put on the threads, it still leaks. The FelPro exhaust gaskets do not cover the exhaust bolts at the corners. (These 4 corner bolts thread into the coolant passages.) I welcome ideas on stopping the leak, or name a gasket that covers all the exhaust bolts.

Lucky you don't have a big block, all the stupid things go into water. I have always had good luck using liquid teflon tape, or regular teflon tape.

We use silicone in the exhaust bolt holes on our big block and had no more coolant leaks.
Put into holes and bolted headers on.

Hope this helps,

Use the high temp RED Permatex RTV sealant on those threads. Works great.

Thanks all for the responses. You all seem to be in agreement not to use goop on the gasket itself; I will be getting FelPro's non-stick gasket, #1413.

I always use copper rtv. Use it on the bolts and the gasket( both sides) it helps to keep the gaqsket from burning and blowing out,
