Question Need help with some part numbers ............

I have a friend with 2 old NOS 440 piston sets. He believes them to be standard bore, but no idea of year or compression ratio. The ChryCo p/n's are:

a) 3577809 & 3577810

b) 3671217 & 3671218

Do any of you guys have a ChryCo p/n book that you could check these ? I have a partial listing of piston numbers, but they skip around these. I believe these numbers would be around 1971.

RB, I have a Uniflite 34' boat with original twin 440 330hp motors- blocks and components are 1972. I had a cracked piston pn 3577809-810. I believe this piston is 8.8:1 and might have only been used on the 330hp marine version- there was also a 300hp marine version with 8.0:1. I have also had trouble identifying the piston but I have a service manual for the motors with the compression ratio. I think the 330hp version was less prevalent and only produced a couple years so the piston is somewhat rare. I'm looking for a replacement std bore (4.320) piston, or a set, if you have one or know of one for sale.

Wow, I'd forgotten I posted that (9 years ago). Let's see, I wound up getting all those piston/rod set-ups. Then a year later I moved and sold my house to my son. He kept a lot of my parts, but I'll have to check with him to see if he still has those pistons.

RB, thanks for getting back to me- it was a long shot through this thread but I had to try. You would make my summer if you can find those pistons. As it is, I've been trying to match up with an aftermarket piston without much success. If you would like, you can contact me directly via email: joel.bost @ us.schneider-electric .com Let me know what you find, I appreciate it.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. My son just got back from out of town. He thinks he may have swapped a bunch of parts to his friend who owns a machine shop. It's real possible the guy never used those piston sets, however he's got to look through his parts room. I'll try to find out more this weekend.

RB, are you still hunting for those pistons? Do you think there is a chance you might still find them?

RB, I'm guessing the pistons didn't turn up...? Either way, thanks for looking for them!
