Default affordable 5.9 upgrades for towing

I want more Torque!!
I have put 3" cat back exaust on, but I also would like to add a cold air package.
My problem is I can't seem to find a kit as advertised to fit my truck (2001 Dodge Ram Q-cab w/ 5.9). Most of the packages are advertised to fit '94-'00. Will one of these kit work for me?
Also, any other suggestions are welcome to build power.

Hey klondike01ram,
I have a 1995 360 Dodge Ram and have tweeked here and there with dyno results that showed me>>> THe 360 is a versatle engine but you have to decide what you want out of it. If you open it up to breathe it will produce more horsepower but less low end torque and vise versa....

I have JBA headers, the factory y-pipe, 3" high flow cat, single 3" in/out flowmaster and single 3" out which works for me.

I experimented with a more open y-pipe and changed back to the stock pipe due to my own towing needs and the 3.55 rear end (with taller tires> 31.64>> 265x75x16's) >> meaning I tow at low rpm's. I had more torque with the stock cat but I found a good compromise of torque and horsepower with the high flow cat seeing as my other mods added to the bottom line numbers already. I tow a 5000lb boat to the coast (225 miles)

Many factors can help you achieve your towing needs. Gears will raise your RPM's and get you into the power band. By not running a 3" cat and opened y-pipe will give you more backpressure and therefore more torque at the loss of upper horsepower. Many more options exist also. It's all about how you want to get there. Might be more mods

If you havent tried the ram truck board yet you might want to.You can find it at the bottom of the page. Select and click it will transport you there. As you most likely know the performance PCM are not recomended for towing. Good luck
