Biggrin Ute = SUV

I think the Aussies called them Utes as a short name for Utility. That's a lot easier to say than Sport Utility Vehicle or SUV.

I went to Aussieland in 1981. I got a kick out of the body shops. They call 'em Panel Beaters down under. Pretty descriptive. Didn't like the Pork Pie much. I couldn't figure out why the hell it was sold everywhere. It was like eating a canned ham with the gelatin stuffed in a pie crust. I liked the topless girls at Surfer's Paradise. That's a DEFINITE GO MATE!!!

Generally a ute uses car sheetmetal with a pickup back end.
