Question Leaking Tranny ?

I have a leaking 904 A transmission, it
leaks from the front and leaks at the torque converter cover just under the tranny. Should I replace the main seal? or should I get a 727 tranny? I have a 85 318.

I don't see why you wouldn't just fix the one that is in there now. One note: It is not uncommon to see a TF wipe out the front pump bushing, sometimes right after O/H! You may even see the neck of the converter crack! To fix/prevent this you will need to instal a TransGo Shift Kit. Another 'magic' thing that is fixed along with the drainback problems is the oil starvation and converter cavitation that leads to this failure.
