Since you have the part #. Ask your MoPar dealer. A cast crank is a low performance item. Fine for hot rods or a mild build up.

rumblefish360:

Do you know if the 383HP Road Runners came with a cast crank or was it steel?

Not a Big Block guy but if I was a betting man, I would say that the 383 came with a forged crank.
I know that they made the move to cast cranks late. 400 have the cast crank.
Are we talking about a 69 R.R.383. I'd say yes agian. BUT I MAY BE WRONG.
ATT. BIG BLOCK GUYS.ANS. THIS QUESTION. FOR 1969RUNNER.

383- forged crank up until 1971.Most 400's had cast cranks, but a few had forged as well.440's had forged until 1973.340,forged until 1973,360 was always cast,318 had forged until 1970 or 1971,but they were always neutral balance.I think slant 6's had forged cranks until 1976,but not real sure.
