Hey Matt, it sound like this car runs extremly well. I would jump on it. I would say with a set of slicks and a little deeper gear(around 4.10) it would go almost 11's. Are you going to be at the track just outside of Fargo this weekend? I live just outside of Minot, ND and We are planning on going to Fargo this weekend to race. I have a Hemi Orange 73 Dart Sport 340, my brother-in-law has a White 73 Duster with 383 power, and my stepson has a Black 83 Mustang GT with 351w power. We will all be at the track on Sat. & Sun. If you get to the track and see us, stop by and say hello. Later, Kevin.

NOS
I would go over 150hp of nitrous...
My 340 would blow head gaskets after about 5 passes with 175hp+ of nitrous...... 100hp should get the combo into the mid to high 11`s.. Hope this helps. Joe |

Deeper gear 4.11+ and a bigger cam. There is no idle prob with a 4 speed. Borrow a 750 carb and try, May hurt, may help. All my OLD articles swear by the 850 DP's on drag 340/360's maybe bigger is better, this is up in the air on this board....What fuel pump you running? No gas + nitrous = BAD!

With a 4.10 or 4.30 gear with slicks and a lil bigger carb will get you real close to 11's. If u spray it with a 100hp you should pick up about 12 tenths. I wouldnt put anymore than 125 to that motor. If you do put the bottle to it make sure you have seperate fuel system just the juice.

Sounds like maybe I will get 4.11 gears, slicks, 125hp NOS shot and try for the new 800 edelbrock carb...I think that would get me pretty close to the 11's.
Kevin-I won't be at Sabin this weekend(I am not moving back out to Fargo for two more weeks)...but hopefully I am going to get this Dart August 23 then maybe that weekend goto the strip. Hopefully I will see you around, I have only met one other mopar guy in Fargo so far. Matt |
