Question

Can anyone recomend a good source voltage for the ec on this carb. The instructions say that it should NOT come off the coil, or the alternator, so where eles is there a solid 12v source with ignition hot. There are several different places to go, but which one is best?

Also, can someone please explain the funciton of this choke to me. It would seem to me that the coil inside the choke would always have power once hooked up and in turn burn it self out unless there was an external blast resistor or something to that effect. Thanks for your input.

Arthur

Cool

Im running a 600 cfm carter elect. choke carb on my sons gran fury and we ran power from the fuse box under the dash.Pick a circuit that only has power when the ignition switch is on and doesnt come on when accessory is used if possible.AS far as power being on all the time it is designed to work this way and has worked for us for over 10 years without a hitch.Good luck

F.Y.I. Art,the choke pull off is actuated via a small internal piston behind the choke cover. The rod which links the choke thermostat to the choke blade is used to adjust the ammount of inital opening of the choke.Adj. it to open far enough to keep the engine from "loading up" immediately after start up.I had a 625 on my old Newport for many years. The only thing I didn't like was lack of adjustability on the secondary opening rate.I had trouble getting it to open late enough with a 383/2.76 gear/235-75 -15 tires/4550lbs.
