Which PUSHROD?
Alright, I am new here and here primarily because MOPARTS is on the blink......got a Q for you guys out there IN THE KNOW.
I have a 88' Dodge 318 engine w/ hyd roller cam. Which pushrods should my engine use, I purchased w/o rockers or pushrods and used a set of rockers from a early eighties 318, and got a set of pushrods from AutoZone for my 88' engine, they are the correct length but should they have holes in the ends or not? I am having lifter "pump" up problems and I feel it could be affecting my performance. My local Dodge Dealership said Quote "What year is your engine, I said 88'. They said oh well we would have to look on microfiche none of our computer records go back that far" I was like WHAT? So......I just wanna know if AutoZone screwed me or if I need NEW lifters. Thanks Swinger |

Why didn't you just order new ones at the dealer? Was it that much off a pain for them. (Wouldn't surprise me) The MoPar performance catolog lists P#, P5249863 as a hyd. roller pushrod for '89-'93 "A" engines. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work in a '88. Even if its an aftermarket cam unless its a wildly large unit. As far as holes go, I wouldn't think so because the engine still oils through the head. Thanks for stoping bye ??? ??? |
