Question

I am currently working on making a 70 Cuda drag car and it has no tailights i was thinking of just putting plates over the openings for now until i can find some tailights but was wondering if there was a
NHRA rule that you have to run headlights and tailights ive heard from people that you have to have lights but then again ive seen
cars that don't even have tailights or headlights? what gives different types of Race Classes??

What you really need is to get an NHRA Rules Book. It tells you what is required and what is not allowed and will save you alot of hassels when you go to tech inspection.

For most classes you need at least one working tail light. Headlights are optional, but they are nice to have if you race at night because some return roads are not well lit.

RamDave you can always buy a aftermarket third taillight and mount it in the rear window and wire it up to the ignition on circuit. This way whenever the car is on the light is on. I did this with my factory taillights but thinking about adding the third light and having that one as the only light on this way.

I got disqualified from a race because I forgot to turn on my taillights. I always forget.
