Question Who Has Indy Heads w/Six Pack???

This is driving me crazy.

I just got another Edelbrock 440 Six Pack manifold from Summit (they originally sent me a 383/400 manifold in a 440 box and caused some frustration).

It seems to be the right casting number (3412048), from the info Wingrunner sent me. However, there is still a space where the manifold should match up to the Indy heads. I am running the Indy Valley Plate as well.

Do I need the spacers?

Do I, indeed, have the right manifold?

Does someone who has this set up have a pic?

The guy I called at Indy a while back said I do not need the spacers.

Was he wrong?

Please, help!

Thanks,
Matt

i have 6pak on indy sr heads. my #says 3412046 but could be a flaw in casting 3. it is a auluminum edelbrock. you have to cut the bottom portion of the heat rise passage off to make it fit with the indy cover .try it without the indy cover and it should fit .ill try to take a picture.

PN-3412046 is the original 69 440 aluminum intake, and manifolds with the last digit 8 is the current Mopar offering. I guess its make the originals real hard to tell apart.

Thanks Everyone.

So, it sounds like my solution is to cut part of the heat passage from bottom of the manifold.

Does anyone know if the spacers will work? I'm assuming not. It looks like if I put some kind of spacer in there it will result in the ports not lining up correctly. I have about 1/2" gap on either side. Does anyone have insight into the usage of the spacers?

Thanks again,

Matt
