Default 727 TRANS Probs, again.

Here we go again. Just finished redoing our 727 from stem to stern using B&M's overhaul kit. The valve body had been converted to manual shift with a B&M Manual Pak years ago and always worked great, so other than a cleaning nothing was changed except for the removal of one check ball. The reason it was taken out was because the kit instructions said to do so. Now we don't have high gear! Everything else is right there, immediately, like it should be, but selecting "drive" has the same effect as shifting into "neutral". Is this because we took out the check ball, or is something else wrong? Baffled I are......djs

If the check ball you removed is the 5/16" one that is in the channel that is inline with with the throttle valve, High gear will not work. It will also not work if you put the 3/8" line preasure ball in the channel. I will be glad to E-Mail you a picture if your kit does not have one.

Flyboy, thanks for the reply. I haven't been ignoring you, I've just been real busy. I think we'll have our trans in working order tomorrow-if not, I'll be in touch. Thanks again..........djs
