I have a 69 383 with a 292 dur / 509 lift cam in it and I would like to know if there is any way I can tell if the springs are stock? (I would hope not).

The stock springs unloaded you could squeeze with your hand.

The p3690933 Springs are a thick wire in the spring coil.

The stock springs is actually wimpy in comparison.

Also look to see if you have dampners inside your springs most stock heads did not have dampners inside the springs. If you have dampners inside the springs you most likely have non-Stock springs.

Well, it sounds like if the springs are single's, they are stock. If they are doubled up, then not. I will have to look the next time I have the covers off. It runs great and strong but, the 3:23 rear is holding it back. I will be changing it to 3:91's in the spring. It a 8 3/4 sure cone type grip.

Thanks Guys
