I have a 400 that's bored .030 over, matching pistons and the 400 crank. I'm about to pick up a 440 that nees to be rebuilt. What I want to do is combine these two motors into a 451. What things do I need to be aware of when matching these part up together?

If you already have pistons for the 400 crank (3.375 stroke) and 400 block (9.980 deck height) you need different pistons for the 440 crank (3.750 stroke). The 440 crank needs to have the main journels (2.750 dia) ground down to fit the 400 block (2.625 dia).
