I have a '75 Dart Sport I'm working on... I've replaced the /6 with a 340 and now I'm working on the bodywork. My question is, the stock bumpers stick out really far due to the shock absorbing brackets. Are there any brackets that would bolt on and allow me to get rid of the bumper filler and maybe even lighten up the car? I've been contemplating this for a while and haven't come up with any real solutions.

D.S.S.you should be able to use 74 dart bumpers w/o the shock absorbers.i took out all the bracing behind the bumper, and only used the outer brackets to mount it,i tossed the bumper guards and filled the center bracket holes with bumper bolts.its WAY lighter now.just dont plan on hitting anything with it!its for "show purposes only"

I got fiberglass bumpers for mine, the rear I used a 70-72 duster bumper.I mounted them right up close to the body using 1/8th" by 1" flat steel stock Igot at ACE hardware.Painted rear same color as body, looks really good, this was about 175lbs. removed from my car!
