Well, when I was in the Air Forçe some of the smaller tugs had slant six's in them. I have seen some Chargers with six's also. Seen some motor homes on E bay with slants. Hmmm, oh yeah, my car.

Cool Industrial?

We have a Yale forklift at work that has a Slant in it. Slants were used in all kinds of applications. Military trucks, farm machinery, generators, marine applications, (even reverse rotation) the list is almost endless.

I know of a crane lift for pulling large boats out of the water that has a slant 6 powering it, it has headers and a 2 bbl. carb on it, it sounds pretty cool. The engine runs a big hydraulic pump that powers a hydraulic motor on each of 4 huge wheels that came off a Boeing jet.

Oh yeah, Chrysler marine division had a slant six also. The cam shaft used in these applications where also used in the '71 to '77 (?) engines used in cars.

Wierdest application I seen for a slant six was ina a Lincoln gas driven welder. WE are next door to a welder reapir shop, and I thought something caught my attention, after some investigation, I revealed the welder running with a 225 in it!!
WOW was I surprised.
Another one I saw was a vibratory compactor for doing road work with a slant six in it, but it had a 170!! Must not of needed all the power of a 225

The Slant/6 came in Agricultural Equipment such as Combines and Swathers. I know Versatile used them in theirs.

I had know clue the \6 was in so many applications. I will have to check the local lumber yard next time i'm there. I know they have a fork lift with a gas engine. No doubt that some of them were custom designs. The welder kinda sounds like one.

cum*do-ge: nice to see another member from Montana. It's to bad that we're so far away. Might have teamed up on some fords if all of the 3 members I know of were closer together.
