Dodge Does It Again!!!

Dodge has done it again! Ward Burton just crossed through the checkered flag to win FIRST PLACE in today's Winston Cup Race at Darlington Speedway!

Awesome Job Ward. Way to go that was the way to win a race. Not taking anything from Sterling's win but I like it much better when no one can catch him versus hanging on. Hopefully this is the first of Many for the Mopar boys. Elliot is showing signs of life with another top 5. Hope the rumors are true about Stewart joing Ganasi's team for next year he could be the all star driver that they need to dominate.

All Right! I thought the announcers when I tuned in the radio sounded like they were kind of weeping and moping. They talked about every thing that happened in the race, except who won. That's usually a sign that a Mopar has won, but I wasn't sure until now, thanks for the good news fellas, and way to go Ward!

The wild thing about it is that he started 37th and worked his way into the top 10 when he had a flat and went a lap down. At least I think that is why, I cannot remember. Any way, if you look at he had to pass the entire field TWICE to get the win. Good job Ward!!! You did it in dominating style. On another note... Sterling was in 7th when the accident happened with less than 2 laps remaining did he get caught up in. He finished 17th. Dave Blaney was the cause of the accident. Dave was running 5th when he got greedy. We could have had 4 Dodges in the top 10 had it not been for Blaney's mistake.

they showed the replay from above it looked like Earnhardt jr.
come down and hit him, one of the announcer's even said he
thought that was how it happened. Blaney had a real fast car,
after two flat tire's he was still in the top ten.Anyway it is
great to see another Dodge win, may there be many more.

My buddy the phord guy got a call after that race from me to brag.He said sterlings win was luck if the race had gone on the ford would have won.way to go ward!!!!!!!

When it was unfolding I was like oh shiot check this out its gonna be wild, he pitched it in the corner like a sprint car and she didn't hold, if Jr had not been there I think he would have saved it. Elliot even backed ouyt trying gto give hime room, But way to go Ward and Dodge doing it again, and next week we will have something to watch in the busch race too.

I would say it was Blaneys fault, reason is Blaney went down on to the flat portion of the track, when he slid up and hit the banking it upset the chassis real bad, and made him loose which just put him more out of shape.

I feel sorry for Elliott, he had new tires and was on the more, he wouldn't have won, but he had a 3rd or 4th place car.

I missed the last half of the race. Had to go to the airport to p/u someone. Race ended while I was hiking across the parking lot.

Let's see, that's two wins, and two Dodges in the top ten in points. All in the first year back!!!! We're Baaaack!

I was at another site earlier. My question is, Why is it that rain out wins and caution wins count when Chevys and Fords win that way, but it's a "qualified" win when it's a Dodge?

Is it just sour grapes?

Of course it's sour grapes, Frankendart! They are just scared to death that the stomping that Mopar put on them from the 50's to the 70's, is about to happen again. Of course, if Dodge and Mopar do too well, I expect Nascar will react. Not to worry, more wins will come, unless Nascar puts parachutes on the back of the Dodges.
