Valve Cover Smoke'n
This is the second 440 I got rebuilt and I continue to have this ongoing problem. On one valve cover I have a pcv valve, and the other I have a small breather. There is noticable smoke/fumes coming from the small breather, especially when the rpm's are up. The valve covers do have baffles in them. Is this a trait of 440's? When I gun the engine, I can smell drifts of oil while sitting in the drivers seat. The small breather gets really oil logged too, eventually dripping (maybe on header causing the oil smell). Any ideas?

Is the PCV valve working properly? Is it hooked up to a good vaccum sourse? It sounds like the vapors in the crankcase are not getting sucked out. I had this problem on my SB when I had the PCV hooked to the bottom of a Moroso air filter. I changed intakes and the new one had a vaccum port in the back and hooking to this solved the problem. Not completely sure why; maybe the higher amount of vaccum from under the carb. Just a thought.
