Default Pulley ratios with tuned engines

What kind of pulley ratios are people using here?
Say if you have a hot SB or BB and the original ratio between crank pulley and waterpump is 1.3to1 then what reduced ratio have you used and what was the outcome? How about an alternator then? Or power steering pump?
I'm trying to decide what to do.

Give me your comments...again.

With the March serpintine pulleys on my car, I used a hp water pump from mopar. Its a stock hi-flow unit. Pumping water around is not a problem.

I don't know the exact ratios, I would have to measure the pulleys, but I have one of the older March underdrive pulley systems, and I think the MP water pump flows good, but the mechanical fan spins too slow at idle and very slow speeds to keep the engine cool (using stock 3-core radiator, fan shroud, MP viscous fan package.) I may install the smaller factory waterpump pulley and leave the March crank pulley (smaller than stock.)
The alternator dosen't start charging untill about 1,200 RPM also with the underdrive pulleys.
My plan is to use one of the new, light and small nippendenso alternators like the newer Mopars use. These alternators can take 14,000 RPM at the alternator so you could turn it 2:1 if you wanted to boost low RPM power output. The draw back is the Nippendenso alternators are expensive, but I think I may be able to find one in a junk yard at a reasonable price.

If you have a 1.3 ratio between the waterpump and crank, you either have an air conditioned older vehicle, or a newer vehicle. The older, non-air cars, had a .95 ratio. I think the change to 1.3 on everything came in the middle 70's.

A lot of the reason the older cars have heat problems is the slow fan speed that the .95 ratio gives.
