The other day I was taking my car fore his yearly inspection to the Chrysler dealer(in holland its the law to have cars older then 3years inspected every year see if they are still fit fore the road)
drivig to the workshop I heard a very irritating noise coming from the driveshaft. I had the mechanic looking at it and he said it had something todo with a flexible part(i'm not a mechanic) from the front driveshaft into the transfere case. The noise did not mean that something was broken ,but lubricating didn't help. The only solution would be putting in a complete new driveshaft.AARRRHHH this would set me back in U$ about 1000,00 ore leave it a go crazy from the noise. Has anyone expierienced the same problem Regards G.Driessen (newbie) |

this sounds like a u-joint its what connects the transmision or transfercase, to the driveline, on most vehicles the u-joint is replacable i've never heard of replacing the hole driveshaft because of a bad u-joint!!!! the u-joint looks something like a (+) with a bearing on each of the four corners. hope this helps.
