Question Can i make these wheels fit easily?

I am beefing up a 63 dodge dart convertible. And the measely tires that are on it won't do. I am thinking about running Keystone Klassic rims 15X10 and 15X7. Will they fit a 63 a-body? Also does anyone have anything positive or negative to say about the M/T Indy Profile Tires?

Thanx
Chris

Measure your clearances using 3 plumbs, one from the spring, fenderwell and one from the drum face. This will give total width and offset, be sure to measure both sides as well as a good visual for anything hanging down or out in the body works. You'll also have to figure your travel clearances and "body lean" clearances. My 2 cents in regards to 15x10's is to go to the next size down because I doubt if you'll be able to run anything big enough that requires a 10 inch rim. I'm not sure but I would think that 15x7's may be a little wide for the front and may cause rubbing while turning. I have a 72 A body and am running 15x10's in the rear and 15x5.5 in the front (picture at www.xposeu.com click on cars, its the yellow 340 Duster) Based on availability of tires that fit under my car I should have gone to 15x8's in the rear. I'm running 265 50's TA Radials in the rear and will soon be changing to one of the DOT street drag tires. If you don't car about traction buy whatever you think looks good. If you want traction, then I'd recommend doing research on the various available street drag tires.

I am running 7" treadwidth 25.2" overall diameter tire on the front and 8" treadwidth 26.1" overall diameter on the rear of a 74 Duster. The wheel wells are full and the fronts will rub slightly on the inside in certian situations. Maybe this information will be helpful in your selection process.

Also a thought to ponder....Unless you change the front hubs and rear axle to a 4 1/2 inch bolt circle, you would have one heck of a time finding rims, perticularly Keystone classics in a 7" and 10" size,in your stock 4" bolt circle. I dont think theres room at all for 10's,unless you crank up the rear way too high to clear the outer fenders. My grandmother had a '63 dart 4 door, and remember barely enough room for the 24560-14's I wanted to put on it.That was with a standard offset 14x7"aluminum slot.
