i am in the process of building a 84 D-100, i have been collecting parts for 3 months now, the flywheel i have purchased is a 11" set up (from 1 ton truck)and the bellhousing (from 150)had a 10.5" in it.is there clearence for 11" clutch? any suggestions? 1984 D-100 /360 /A-833 4-speed (o.d)

I believe there is no problem. You'l just need the correct bolts for the pressure plate.

I dont konw if your starter will work. I'm not shure but it doesent seem like it would fit.

I personally would not go this route with the 11 inch. Can't see you needing that much clutch anyway. The mp book lists a 360 flywheel for the cast crank thats a bolt in.
Going this route the clutch is cheaper and more readily available. I had to go through this with my dart sport when I switched a 318 to a 360. There are not 360 flywheels for 10.5 clutch available. All the info I could find was the od bellhousing is diffent in the size of the bearing retainer area. This makes me unsure a 11 inch will fit in a od bellhousing. Have heard of guys redrilling the 10.5 flywheel to accept a 11 inch pressure plate. Havn't tryed this one but it better be a good machine shop that does it. |
