i am fixing to buy new rear leafs for my 70 383 challenger. It has 318 leafs and air shocks(aahhh) and i was wanting the rear about a inch or 2 higher than normal, to give it some rake like an aar or t/a. would the new MP xhd springs do this or the S/S springs. How much of a difference do they have.

XHD will be level. S/S springs will give tilt to the ride. How much I don't know. I believe it differs from p# to p#

I used a pair of the 02/03 springs on my 73 Duster, it raised it up about 1 1/2" as measured from the top of the tire to the center of the rear wheelwell lip.
Since all S/S springs are A body length, on B-bodies you install longer bolt-in front connectors which have 2 different height front eyelets. If you use the lower hole (i.e., spring eyelet is HIGHER in the chassis) the ride height is only slightly higher overall. The down side to this is you need to shim your axle with wedges to re-correct your pinion angle. I'm not sure about the E bodies although I imagine there will be something similar as the Challenger's wheelbase is (as I remember)2 or 3" longer than the Cuda. Also, on E-bodies the springs are not perpendicular to the axle as on A's and B's. Wize 1 ------------------ Streetwize |
