Default What's your trans temp after a 1/4 mile pass?

I get to the line and my trans temp is 150 after the pass it's 190-200.Does this sound right, thinking of putting a cooler with a fan on it in the car,any buddy use a cooler with a fan?

I don't know about temps but I can tell you that a cooler and a deep pan is a must. My cars are much more consistent w/ those added. The 727 stock pan is a joke. It must go no questions asked. Deep pans also have a drain plug already added which is nice, course you can add one to anu pan for about 6 bucks. Be sure to get an aluminum one.

Yo Gromski, those temps sound fine. Remember your only concern is not to boil the fluid and/or melt parts. As the other fellow said the pan and cooler are a must. Added capacity and also cooler engine temps are a bonus. Where were you today? Got the Challenger down to 13.6, not bad compared to what I started at!

Default cooling

We run a 65 Dodge with a Hemi that uses a Sirocco type radiator with a electric fan pushing through the front of it.

I try to stage the car at about 140-150 degrees, and clearing the traps it is generally around the 180-190 range. Usually when I return to the truck it is around 210.
