Default idle bleeds on 830 annular holley

I have the .509 cam in a 440+.030 with 9.5 cr and 906 heads with porting and 2.18/1.81 valves.Car runs good but somewhat rich at idle.Thought maybe we should change the idle bleed size to clean up the car.Works good and is only a drag car with an actual 3600 stahl and 4.10 etc.thought or ideas would be helpful.

i was just reading about this. says not to do it unless nothing else works.it can give you a flat spot in trasaction to main metering. did you try opening the secondary plate just a hair to let pimarys close a little tighter. or lower bowl level a little. im not a carb specailist by any means.

I went through the same thing with my .509 cammed 440. If you haven't tuned the power valve for idle vacuum do that first. If the idle still seems rich consider drilling the throttle plates to get more air into the engine. Check the Holley websites troubleshooting section for instructions.

Leave the idle bleeds alone. Opening the secondarys a little works. Also drilling the primary throttle plates lets a little more air in. Check power valve opening. Make sure valve isn't open when idling, which will richen it.

Thanks guys, tried all of these suggestions and we know the cam is the culprit as we just changed it,the carb has 4 corner idle and responds very well to adjustment but we cant clean it up enough to stand in the garage more than a few minutes.
