Hookers And 440 Edlebrock Heads
IS ANYONE USING THE 17/8" HOOKER COMP. HEADERS WITH THE EDELBROCK 440 ALUM. HEADS ESPECIALLY ON A B-BODY. IF SO, DID YOU HAVE TO DING UP THE HEADERS FOR THEM TO FIT RIGHT AND ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THEM. THANKS

I can't answer specifically about the C Body but with the same headers and Edelbrocks on an E Body I had to modify a couple of tubes on the passenger side. The drivers side header didn't have to be touched. For the number 8 plug I ground down a sparkplug socket to make it shorter. I would highly recommend doing the mock up for the even number plugs on the bench and bolt on the header. After all, if you can't get the plugs in past the headers on the bench........ It will then be easy to see which tubes have to be heated up and worked for clearance. You certainly don't want to just bolt everything up then try to fix things after the installation. With the heads on the bench is a great time to index the plugs. I am running Autolite Platinums in the equivalent recommended Champion heat range. And yes, the heads will make more power than what they are replacing, that's my bet. Good luc
