I built a 360 for my dart, very happy with it. But as always the fun of building it has gone. Does anyone have info on stroker 360;s.
In order to clean this block up we had to go .060 over. It is a number 2 block so the bores are evenly spaced and all. I just want more power. Though I don't want to go to a big block. This car must stay driveable it's my daily driver.

I am working on this now due to a my trshed 318.

Their are 2 companys offering a 408 strkore kit at this time. Hughes, & Muscle Motors.
Both being internally balanced. hughes quoted me 1833 for their kit, & a couple hundred less when they get in stock some cheaper rods. Muscle Motors adveritises a kit with choice of 2 rods one costing 1999.00 & 1799.99

Diamond racing is now advertising 4" stroker pistons for 530.00

buymopar.com has the 4" stroker crank for 306.00 #p5007258. but have heard of pricing at 282.00 somewere in South Dakota.

Let us know what you find out it sure will be nice to see some other posts on this topic to lessen the work of reasurch.

Also do a search on stroker from this forum their are about 5-15 post on 360 strokers I have read them all about 4 times!

Mancini Racing has a Kit that you may be interested in, but give Tranzact a call. Joe is working on a deal to build several of these. It uses a 6.25 rod that helps. He just built one for a road runner, and it went 10.82 on about the 6th pass. All steel and 3600 pounds. No nitrous, and street legal.

That is a great motor to build if you have time and patience. It is not very expensive, but you must be very precise in your measurements and give it time. This is not a motor I would suggest putting together in an afternoon from your parts in a garage (impossible actually). I have spend easily a few months just calculating clearances and mock assembling. I did save a ton of money. I used KB Hypereutic Pistons for Chebby. Not done yet, but a friend built one in a 71 dart with 3000stall and 10" slicks and it ran UNTUNED first pass @12.53seconds!!!!!!! Yeah! Write me and we can talk. Joecuda....also, the guys on this board are pretty knowledgeable (some especially) so ask them your questions. They are great! MoPOWER!

I've been looking into doing this to my 340. I called Hughes and Muscle Motors.
Hughes is expecting some cheaper pistons to come in soon from KB. The concern that I have on using the KB's is that they are not forged and with my motor at around 450+ hp I just have a concern, but maybe I'm just paranoid. As far a MM goes, I wasnt impressed at all on the phone with them. I tried to talk to their tech guys and the salesmen said to call them later. I asked the salesmen about prices and he was in the weeds. He told me to call Mopar tech line and gave the #. I called and it was dissconnected. I called MM back and told them that I needed their new number. The person that answered the phone sounded like I just interrupted his Bong session and told me that is "the only" phone number they have.
Because of the way I was treated on the phone I will never recommend MM for anyone unless they demand that they want to spend some time on the phone and get really irritated. Just my opinion and .02. Hughes is the one that I go to and when I did have a problem he fixed it....good luck..dj

Yeah I liked the Hughes guy he was very nice.
I am not yet at a level to converse with him but look forward to when I have learned more & can call him back.
He was willing to spend all the time answering all that I could come up with & was real patient with me.

Well, Hughes has just release a street kit, but not with KB pistons. It's using Diamond's street pistons with a dished top. Looks exactly like the race kit except the CR is 1.8 points lower, and it costs $65 MORE!!??! Guess I'm naive to think that race parts should cost more than street parts.

I have talked to both MM and Hughes. Both seemed coopertaive and helpful. MM is the only one that I have seen that actually have one of these actually running!
There are other kits out there but only MM and Hughes are INTERNALLY balanced. Hensley is externally balanced and Mancinini is not balanced at all. The balancing seems to run a minimum of $200 plus $50 to $100 for each slug of mallory. You have to figure this into your total cost if you go with an unbalanced kit.
I have put together a comparison in Word format of all the options that I am considering, including sourcing al the parts individually without a kit. If anyone is interested in seeing it e-mail me.

Here's another outfit that sells Mopar stroker kits: http://www.speedomotive.com/newpage1.htm

I am not familiar with their telephone manners are, but I did visit their shop some years ago and they seem cooperative and attentive.

A 318 to 350 stroker kit runs 895, and a 340 to 392 kit runs 2450. Unfortunately, they do not list a 360 kit.
