Default One wire ignition

I work in the electrical trade and can tell you that I hate wiring!
I am looking for a one-wire alternator and a one-wire HEI distributor for my 440. Anyone know where one can be had? I know of small-block HEI with around 40kv, but they didn't have any for RB's. Please advise.
My appreciation for your time.

I just happened to go through this last week after replacing my fan belt system with a March Performance Serpentine system. I had 100 amp external fan alternators on both cars I converted and March will only deal with the 70 amp internal fan style.

There is a company called Tuff Stuff products (I think the link is www.tuffstuffproducts.com) in Cleveland that makes 1-wire (regulator on the alternator) 100amp alternators in a 70 amp cage. You can get it in a bare case, polished case, or chrome case.

When you call, ask for Frank and tell him Dave Schultz from Texas refferred you. The best service I have ever received from a Mopar parts vendor!

well, here's an HEI that is one package, and 2 wires: http://www.performancedistributors.com/new.htm

or you can make your own HEI that is four wires from http://liquid2k.com/duster318/tech/hei.html

Just want to second that TuffStuff one wire alternator. Bought one a while back and it solved a lot of problems i was having, as well as making the stereo louder...

But one quick word, I unhooked my under the dash alt gauge , wired the leads together, and then also ran a second wire w/a fusible link from the alternator to the starter relay. Otherwise that 100 amp alternator can melt your bulkhead connector and start a fire...

Toast
