Hi, I'm going to get some new wheels and tires soon but I cant decide what would look good. What do you guys think about Torq Thrust D's on a Sublime Challenger with a black vinyl top? Also, would a 15x8.5 with 3.75 (most backspacing available on these) inch backspacing and a 275/60-15 fit in the back and not rub, rolling the fenderlip is okay if needed. If that wouldnt fit, maybe a 265/60 or 275/50?

You can search for tire size in this chat and come up with a good thread. I asked the same question a month ago or so. I came up with 275/60/15 on back and 235/60/15 on the front is the largest you can go on a stock rim (15x7). If you use other than stock backspacing, then who knows....
good luck ------------------ |

I have seen 295/50/15's on the rear of a purple '71 Challenger. Police wheels widened to 8", black with dog dish caps. Only the lip (where the molding fits) had to be ground to provide clearance during suspension travel. Lip hit the sidewall before grindoing. Tires looked like STEAMROLLERS!!!

265/60/R15 BF Goodrich radial T/As on Wheel Vintiques 15X8 fit just fine on a friend's '70, but I think the backspacing is 4.5". I'll check with him. I think you'd probably have clearance problems with just 3.75".
