Default Holley carb recommendations

I wanted to try a Holley carb while I have my Carter TQ reworked by Demon Sizzler. How about some help picking one out. Here's my engine specs: 1973 block with 9.5 to 1 pistons, 1970 # 915U heads, MP509 cam, Performer RPM manifold, Hedman headers, MP orange box, Blaster 2 coil and K&N filter. I have 4spd tranny and 4.10sg rearend. Car presently runs 5.5" vacuum at 1000 rpm idle. What about vac. or mech. secondaries and double pumper or not? Thanks guys.

I'd use a Holley 750 double pumper,or the new Holley 770 Avenger.

I have used the Holley list number 6711. It is a 650 double pumper spreadbore and is supposed to be the replacement for the Thermoquad (no adapter required). It ran good on my 68 Cuda 340 with .484/284 cam and 3.91 gear and automatic. Should be really nice on your four speed.

Id pick a 700 dp or for cheaper a 750 vac sec also just put a 77o avenger on a stock 440 4 spd and loved it too, although I currently run a 8.8:1 360 with the MP 509 with 3,91s(3.09 1st) and picked .3 off the bottle with an 830 dp over 750 vac (I also run N2O) and it loves it but mileage dropped to 8 mpg from 13,......PRO.....

Any of these carbs should work fine. I just put a ProSystems 780cfm dp on my 383 auto. I have a brand new (300 miles?) 700dp w/box and instructions if your interested, let me know. good luck. <><

If kingjr. offers a good deal, hop on it. A 700 dp will work real well on that.
