Default Holley HP Series?

Okay... Here's my question.... I had a buddy of mine tell me that the HP series of Holley carbs are junk (Runs a small block Chevy in a Datsun Pickup).... I just picked one up for a decent price and am going to test it out on my 440 Challenger... (Currently running a Holley 850 DP).... Is it true they are junk or is this guy blowing smoke... I've never talked to anyone else who has used one... Anybody had any experiences?????

I had a 950 holley hp and a 1050 9375 hp holley and i loved them both, never a problem.... If this guy has worked on it who knows what problems you will be getting into.... Call holley and get the specs( jetting, power vavles ect...) and put it back to stock and it should work great........ Lee....

Nah... this is a 76 Datsun.... It runs well though... It's white with black stripes... This HP carb is basically brand new stock.... I'm boltin it on and I'll tune it from there... I didn't think that the HP series had a bad reputation...

If I can get the HP carb to work well, then I will.... The 850 was brand new about 3 months ago...HP is going on my Street/Strip car w/440.... I'll definitely let you know after I run at the strip.... I may have a 750 DP available too.... I believe it's a Bill Mitchell Carb with the 850 base... (putting new 505 cube motor in other car (Strip Car Only) and that will need a big fat Dominator so the 750 will not be needed...)...

Thumbs up

Keep me posted, you can email me at l_srader@hotmail.com . I may be interested in one of them. I've got a 3310 with a ProForm body on it on my 392, but I don't think it's big enough for what I'm running.
