Default msd installation guestion?????????

Ok to start off with I totally suck at electrical problems so heres my question. Im installing a msd digital 6 plus and the instructions say to hook the small red wire to a 12 volt keyed source(original positive coil wire) well this car had the old jacobs system on it and the original wiring harness has been played with a lot. After unhooking the jacobs wiring mess I cant semm to find the original pos coil wire. Where else is there a good place to run this wire? Since the msd plus eliminates the ballast resister and electronic ignition boxes I removed them for a cleaner appearance. Any help would be greatly appriciated THANKS

Default more to the question

After looking at some wiring diagrams would it work to hook the 12 volt keyed source wire directly to the ballast resistor terminal on the starter relay?????
