MP Adjustable Pinion Snubber
I just bought a Mopar Performance adjustable pinion snubber for my 68 Satellite (440/727 8 3/4 3.55 sure-grip). After getting past the poor welding job (could'nt set the snubber to the lowest setting because of the huge weld bead, only after grinding, did it finally go down all the way), I tryed installing it and found that it was way to tall (hit the floor pan). I ground down the rubber bumper so know there is about 1/2" of clearence between the bumper and the floor pan. My questions are, for a mainly steet driven car, what would be a good height to set the snubber (distance between bumper and floor pan), has anyone else had this problem and I was thinking about cutting down the steal on the snubber so I would have more room for adjustments. Thanks for any help.

Its a fairly common problem w/snubbers. Its not uncommon to have to cut both sides down 1 hole to get them in. Of course they don't tell you that when you order one!

I swear they make them things for trucks! The setting kinda depends on what kind of springs you have. Super stock springs work best with no snubber.

Me too
I have had to remove metal off the inner piece in order to allow it to slide down enough. The adjustment will depend on the car and where it is driven.

I cut off the lower hole position on my insert to get the right adjustment, about 1" of clearance for the street.....PRO....
