I am rewiring an old mopar from scratch and will be using an electronic voltage regulator and dual field alternator that was on 70's - 80's cars. From the schematics i look at, there is 1 wire from ign switch when key is on to blue wire on regulator, then to field terminal on alternator. The other field terminal to black wire on regulator. Question is: does it matter which field terminal on alt is which? Or are ther interchangeable?

I switched over to electonic ignition on my 68 sattelite. It does not matter which field wire you put on which field terminal.Hope this helps you out.

They are interchangeable. I used to have a '70 Challenger that used to eat up the diodes. When when would blow, I would swap the wires until the other one blew, once it blew I would take the alternator back under warranty.
