Thats .474/474 lift 280-280 durayion and 110 LSA...probly somewhere between 2200-2600 stall would work.

If it's an A body use 2800 minimum, B or E, use 3200 minimum. Don't be afraid to go up as much as 400 more on either application, idle quality will be much better and gear engagement won't be as harsh. Also acceleration from stop or low speed will improve greatly. djs

Thumbs up

That cam should be happy with 2500-3000 stall converter. What rear axle gear are you running? Do you want more steet or more strip? With say 3.91 gears and more strip in mind, 3500 rpm stall would be fun.

I recommend a transmission oil cooler in addition to the radiator for high stall converters, and converter manufacturers do too!

LOOK AT PEAK RPM AND GO WITH 2000-2250 RPM LESS,IE AT 5000 RPM ENGINE GO WITH A 3000 WITH A 6000 RPM ENGINE THE 3500 WILL WORK GREAT FOR GENERAL STREET USE.JUST REMEMBER THE SOFTER THE ENGINE POWER THE SLIGHTLY MORE +500 CONVETER WILL HELP UP TO ABOUT 3800 ON THE STREET THE THE HEAT SKYROCKETS.
