1/8 mile gears/tires
Anyone got any ideas what it takes to run 1/8 mile at 6400 in third gear? Everyone here runs 4:56/4:88 for 1/4 mile, goes thru 1/8 mile in top of second, all run out by 1000 ft. in 1/4! Why not have two pumpkins-one for 1/8 and one for 1/4? Back to my original question: what gear/tire combination would get me 6400 in top of third gear in an 1/8 mile? Thanks!

I run 4.56 gears with a 28X9-15 MT ET Drag and cross the line in the 1/8 just under 6000, so I would say 4.88 or 5.13 should put you close to 6400. In the 1/4 though I cross at over 6800 with the 4.56 gears, I think a 4.30 or 4.10 would be better for me.

what about just changing tires? if you can get the traction all worked out.. it would be alot easier to cross the 1/8th in second gear, and tire set A, and cross the 1/4 on tire set B topping 3rd gear.
I'm just about to take my pumpkin out right now.. and i must say there is alot more to a pumpkin swap then there is to a tire change!!! |
