After reading every mopar mag I could find I still needed a gearhead fix, so I bought a Car Craft magazine. Wow, i was suprised to see a couple of mopar sections and was really impressed with the 440 edelbrock head dyno run. They ran a .040 440 with out of the box edelbrock heads, a rpm performer manifold, 10.23:1 compression and a 750 speed demon carb. The cam they used was a comp cams with .523 intake and exhaust with 1.6 rockers and 230 int, 236 exh duration at .050. The results were 535.5 hp @ 5300 and 582.9 lb-ft torque at 4100. I thought that was pretty impressive for out of the box parts and that mild of a cam. That could be an easy mid eleven second street car that would even idle. A little work to those heads and a little wilder cam and who knows. I hope someone in the future runs a dyno test with those heads and maybe a little wilder cam. I actually bought a subscription to Car Craft. I was impressed that they had guts enough to give Mopar its props. Another good mag with lots of Mopar is called Muscle Car Review. I can hardly ever find it, though.

Another thing I like about Car Craft is that it is geared toward the backyard mechanic who doesn't have a shop full of tools and a 3 car garage.

Car Craft runs a lot of Mopar stuff. Expect to see a bunch from Hot Rod now that Freiburger is over there. Check out November Popular Hot Rodding. It has a Mopar tech article and they are going to have more in the future.
