Thanks for the info. I called summit to check part #'s on balancer. Not to be sold for 73 340. The book shows that # for 73 340. Must be a misprint. Also checked with owner and the trans is a 904. Checked with a local shop and they said 904 never came behind a 340. Checking with owner to find out if he has the trans that went with that engine. Also found a orignal balancer marginal condition and installed on the engine. it made a noticeable difference in the vibration. The summit flex plate looks like it is the final piece to the puzzle. Once again thanks for saving me a lot of trial and error work.
