Default superwinch rating question?

I have a very stupid question I need answered. How does the rating system work for a superwinch? I need a winch for my car trailor to load and unload my drag car which is about 3600lbs. My buddy has a brand new s3500 superwinch for sale, but it is rated for 3500lbs and the motor stalls at 4100lbs. Now is this rating pulling a 3500lb truck out of the mud or on a flat road? Will this winch be safe to use on my trailer? Ok stop laughing, I told you it was a stupid question
THANKS

I use a 2000 lb Superwinch to drag cars on my trailer. It has a little trouble if they have multiple flats or a locked brake.
It drug a '49 Plymouth with no motor, two flat fronts and two locked rears up onto the trailer. The scrawny tires were covered in dirt and were from the 70s. That probably made it much easier.

I also pulled a '78 Olds Delta 88 monstrosity on the trailer but it had good tires. The winch was running a bit slow, but it got the 4500 lb beast up the ramps.

Yeah, the 3600 lb winch would probably do you fine. It make be a bit slower than the big money winches, but no biggie. Call it my cheap side rearing it's ugly head.

I just bought one for my race trailer from summit using the 10% off code! I've used them on other trailer and they are fine. To double the pulling capacity, just use a pulley.

The snatch block will double what you can pull, put it will also cut the pull speed in half. Remember that the pull rating is for the first wrap of cable on the drum. The 2nd 3rd and 4th wrap lose more pull capacity with each wrap. Also check this site for more info on what it will do, but it should work fine for you.
