Best cam for a 360 magnum?
Was looking at buying a Magnum 360 crate motor. Now, they have two options, the 300hp and the 380hp. Since I'm going to be putting this thing into my van (73 B100), the .501/.513 camshaft coupled with the single plane M1 does not look like it will provide me with the low end that I need. But the .385/.401 cam on the 300hp sounds positively wimpy!
I noticed a .458/.467 R/T camshaft in the MPP catalog listed as a performance upgrade. Do you think I should order this cam, or does one of the big aftermarket guys make a better one (like Comp). Anybody running either the R/T or an aftermarket in the Magnum and really happy with it? Any by the way excuse my ignorance, but what does R/T stand for? Road/Track? |
