stock rods and crank balanced and blueprinted bottom end.
452 heads bowls ported polish chambers with valves unshrouded and new 2.08I and 1.81E stainless valves with new guides and 5 angle valve job on a serdi seat cutter. New 933 Springs 10 degree locks and keepers. Exhaust ports polished and raised slightly.
supposedly 3500 10" convertor with 727 stock rebuild with b&M shift kit.
Driveshaft shortened from cordoba.
A-body 8 3/4 with 3.91 and welded open carrier. Moser axles cut down to fit with larg bolt pattern.
Front Disc Brakes from 72 RR.
Weight not yet measured.
Time slips on the 1/8th mile 8.363 with the rear brakes tightened up so much we couldnt push the car in nuetral forward.

Converter will only stall 2100 at 2200 the rear tires start to turn.

Small block, 3185lbs with me in, race only, 69 Dart, best of 10.19 130.50 mph. (NO nitrous, no alky, no blower) If people know the weight and 1/4 #'s, we can compare apples to apples. Mine makes roughly 590 at the rear wheels. (If you can believe the p/w programs)

kchristopher,
What's your point? I didn't say it was super fast or anything. Not bad for less than $6000 total investment.

'71 Charger 500 street car, 4,150 pounds,
best of 12.40 @ 110+ MPH, but is usualy a consistant 12.60 car at Bandimere in Morrison, Colorado. Air is usually worse than 6,000 ft altitude.
451 B-1 b/s heads, stock 727 with shift kit and 10" Dynamic converter and 3.91:1 gears on M/T street ET tires and on 91-octane pump gas spiked with 25% 110 leaded race gas mainly to protect the valves if the engine is running lean. On the street it runs fine with straight pump gas.
With a better suspension or tires it should knock off a few tenths since leaving at RPM over 1,500 smokes the tires, but I did win a "Longest burn-out" trophy at the Mopar at Thunder Mountian car show
With my street BFG T/A tires (255x60x15 front and rear) my best 60' is 2.0 second, and about 13.0 flat.
With the M/T street ET (11.5x26x15) my 60' drop into the mid to high 1.8's.
The car dosen't have a roll bar or sub-frame connectors, and has a full interior.

My future plan is to put the 451 engine (with a larger cam) in my '69 Coronet R/T which I want to back-have, and set-up strictly for racing.

See, I knew it. A BUNCH of impressive cars and motors. When you throw in the weight, you can see some of these deals are making a great deal of grunt at the wheel. That /6 is cool! The fast daily drivers are right there as well. Bottom line....all Mopars are THE car. These kind of times are always stated in the "bullmoose rags", but when you read the fine print, alot of them list weights like 2500, 2700 and the like. I could go low 9's that lite. Typical stove bolt deal, if it won't go, chrome it. Keep em' coming!

Lots of quick cars here. If I spent all the money on the different combos that have passed through my Mirada in one shot I'd probably be in the eights! But what fun would that have been. Presently I run a 496 Stage VI (yes, I like them) heads 11.6 to 1 engine. JW 10" 3400 stall convertor which is too low of stall but I was thinking I was going to drive on the street. The best ET so far was a 10.94 119 mph at 1300ft. Runs 11 teens on a regular basis at 2200ft. Engine has been running for six seasons now and car weighs around 3800 with me in it. Lots of torque and very little maintenance. Has always been a challenge to make the car work as it is not your ideal race car.

The rustbucket feature is unique. You can still do it though but takes years of practice of not doing anything to the car and letting it sit in a field somewhere to rot. This will remove weight and make it look butt ugly and force you to spend tons of money on replacement panel somewhere in the future. This will make your car faster as it is less weight. HAHAHAHAHA.
Remmber to be true to the rustbucket sensation you must leave the car there for several years and never I repeat never wash it. Also spraying the car with salt may help speed up the process but there are no shortcuts to this divine way of thinking.

LOL
I couldnt keep from laughing while I wrote this I hope yall enjoy it.

Christian
