I just got my '69 Coronet back from the muffler shop!
A full dual exhaust with 2.5" tubes and a crossover pipe. I had to drive it 6 miles from the house with open headers. Boy was that nerve racking. The mufflers are GREAT. They have a throaty tone but are very quiet until your romp on it!
I highly recommend them. They are $40 each for 2.5" in and out at Advance Auto.

I don't have a 'muffler shootout' chart in front but these are the chambered type like Flowmasters. There is not packing in them. But they made a world of difference to my street build 383 (9.5:1 CR Crane Powermax cam) I had my heart set on a set of FlowMasters until I saw the price jumped to $70.00 each. (I guess the baffles are gold plated inside)
Can anyone find a magazine review on FlowTech AFTERBURNERS?

Hey Doc, did you get the flowtech headers too? I've had my eye on those for a while, ceramic coated and thick flanges for under $300! But I haven't heard how they fit, the specs sound dubious for the E-bodies. Those mufflers sound good too. Let us know how they perform.

Thumbs up

Hey guys, if you want the same kind of flow as Flowmasters, get the Flowtech Terminator line of mufflers. No packing to burn out, fully welded, and have very comparable flow #'s. At Checker Autoparts we sell them for $50 each in 2,2-1/4, and 2-1/2 sizes. You can even get them in 3 inch but I can't remember if the price is the same. They are louder than the Afterburners , sort of like the Flowmasters but with their own sound. I really love these mufflers and will be putting them on my 65 Fury this spring.
