Question For anyone who owns an M-Body

I've owned 3 M-bodies and it seems like I ran into the same problem with each, at one time or another.

Has your 318 M-body ever gotten condensation under the distributor and ran like crap? I replaced the cap and rotor last November and this week I replaced them again. The car started bucking and would stall out whenever it was raining or when there was a lot of humidity (it seemed).
Ever been down this road before? What causes this? The old cap/rotor looks OK, but since the swap the Dippy has run like a champ.
I'm wondering if it's just a design flaw.

I've had that before on my Dipp and 5th. Don't know why but my BB's in the Volare and 5th never had that prob. Even drove the Volare with no hood in the rain. 2 times I had to leave my car cause it died getting wet. I just figured it was the cheap ignition wires and cap. Maybe the small block distributer hates getting wet.

I checked out the distributor cap and it looked OK until I really looked close. The inside seemed to have a texture to the plastic. I ran a finger across the inside and seems like the cap coated with small droplets of oil. (shrug)

Oil could probably cause a spark to jump, no?

Maybe it's the cap or the styling of them? I've never had a problem on either of my 5th Aves. Don't know what caps were on them when I got them, but they both have the Wells Gold series (red) rotor/cap sets right now.

Does it have the vent on the cap?
