Right now i have a Holley 750 vac. secondary on my 440 which I would say makes 400-450 horsepower. I am Considering having DemonSizzler rebuild me a 800 cfm TQ w/the street/strip version(flowed to 860 cfm) is this too big?

Thumbs up

440's love their gas!!!! I have used a 750, 850 and 950 on my 440 and it made more power every time i switched to the bigger carb. How is your 440 set up? The 3310 might be just fine for your application. In general though, if you want more performance, go with the bigger carb. Good luck.

I have to agree with 68Charger440: I had a 625 Carter Competition carb and went back to an 850 CFM Carter TQ. This helped acceleration and slightly more top RPM. I rejetted the carb with .101 mains rods are .068/.042" and went with the .143" secondary jets. Also had to tighten up the secondary air door an extra turn or so for the heavy truck w/ .323's. A properly tuned 440 and jetted correctly should pass everything on the road EXCEPT the gas station! Enjoy!! I have extra TQ parts if needed.
Jets, floats , etc

I think the 3310 carb is great, Its just I want them to do that refinishing thing done on the carb so it looks prettier(I enter shows, shine counts) I am also switching to a set of ceramacoated headers- anyone know of a good pair for about $300?

I remember trying different carbs, sizes and brands, back in the 70's. A Holley carb of a smaller size vs a carter with more cfm the Holley always went faster and quicker. A good carb person that does performance work on carbs can do some really good things to help Carter carbs achieve great performance. You have to remember that in the NHRA stock classes you must run the factory carb. Did you ever think a 360 Duster would run 11:50's?

I've used the 750 Holley double pumper with excelent results, and decent fuel economy.Thorley headers has a nice set of headers for about $340.00.
