Fixing the Grille centerpiece on my 74 Challenger!!!
Hey guys,
What is the best product for fixing all the multiple cracks in my plastic centerpiece. The original owner had done a SLOPPY job and there was glue and goop and fiberglass everywhere it didn't look pretty. I spent hours getting all this sh*t off and I did without tearing it up. I have several 1/2 moon cracks where the louvre uprights meet the bottom piece and some around the mounting brackets at each end. What would give me the best bonding strength? Thanks. I sure wish I could just get a repop replacement!! |

Good luck with the re-pop. Although I think you'll have an easier time with locating your E body parts than my Duster grille. Mine is cracked in two spots right on the mount supports where all Dusters crack. I'm using my Dremel tool to make the crack into a "v" where I will apply epoxy. After that's dry, the Dremel will come back out to smooth it out and then plastic filler from a hobby shop ( like for model cars) to finish it. Spray it semi-gloss black and be done. Help any?
Just my thoughts. |
