Question

Does anyone have any info about C-clip eliminators for 8 1/4 or dana35c rear axles? The 8 1/4 rear is a pretty common axle on the junkyard mopars, and i was interested in using it for offroad use, if i could make use of some C-clip eliminators. Getting a GRIP of axle shafts wouldn't be too hard... oh and are 8 1/4 axle shafts left/right hand specific?

Can anyone tell me how exactly the c-clip eliminators work, and who makes them, and where to get them? thanks.

I'm looking to put together a stout 8.25" rear with sure grip and 3.55's in the spring and could use some info on the eliminators also. Common guys, someone knows something. Also what would be some good locking differentials and what are the costs?

for the locking diff, There is a powertraks unit for the 8 1/4 (I'm pretty sure) these things are pretty good because they lock up like a locker, but they can go around turns without screwing anything up, and you can burn rubber around turns too!

D35c's are crapy, the only stronger shaft for the D35c is from superior & has been roomer of them going out of buisness.

The tubes bend, The rings break, & after market carrier's are limited.

Nobody in the 4x4 world would ever swap in a D35c.

D44, D60, 12 bolt, ford 9", or an 8.8 would be more suited to a 4x4.

Which axles have left/right specific shafts?

Like for a d35 the left/right shafts do not interchange. The only axle i know with universal shafts is the 9".

thanks.

anyone have an update on c-clip eliminators? I'm just curious because if they arent too expensive, i could get a surgrip and c-clip eliminators before i swap my 8 3/4 and then maybe sell that to someone who could use my 8 1/4.
